I’ve often repeated in my own blog “XX before XY” that Eve must have preceded Adam because the Y chromosome is obviously a truncated and edited Y. We have known this perhaps since before the mapping of the human genome but since then it’s irrefutable. It’s the smoking gun so to speak, the crime scene of creation and it proves we were not created, at least not in the way that Abrahamic dogma insists we must have been. This merely scratches the surface however. The following wordpress blog post from “Why Evolution Is True” goes into more detail about how its impossible to reconcile the Creation Myth of Abrahamics with modern science. Still believing in judeo-christo-islamo belief systems after reading this is foolhardy and a lie to one’s own self. Yet people WILL continue to believe even so, and I’m trying to figure out why that is.
We can all argue about whether Jesus was a parthenogenetic being produced without physical insemination, and whether he became reanimated a few days after death, but getting direct evidence for those “miracles” is well-nigh impossible, and so we argue against them on the grounds of improbability. But there’s one bedrock of Abrahamic faith that is eminently testable by science: the claim that all humans descend from a single created pair—Adam and Eve—and that these individuals were not australopithecines or apelike ancestors, but humans in the modern sense. Absent their existence, the whole story of human sin and redemption falls to pieces.
Unfortunately, the scientific evidence shows that Adam and Eve could not have existed, at least in the way they’re portrayed in the Bible. Genetic data show no evidence of any human bottleneck as small as two people: there are simply too many different kinds of genes around for that…
